Jason Arnott and Alex Ovechkin practiced fully today as the Capitals prepare for a three game home stand.  Ovechkin said afterwards that he thinks he is ready to go.  On playing tomorrow Ovechkin said it’s not his decision, but said again he was ready to go and they’ll see tomorrow.  After practice Arnott said he felt pretty good out there today, not sure on the timetable and still have to discuss it with trainers and coaches and go from there.  Arnott on playing tomorrow said he’ll see how it responds today, will take the morning skate and then they’ll see again tomorrow.  Arnott also said he thinks it’s realistic him and Ovechkin will be back by the end of the week.

Boudreau said he thought both Ovechkin and Arnott skated really well today and getting closer.  Says he is still hopeful for their return by the end of the week, but still needs to talk to Greg Smith.   Mike Green skated before practice, in full pads, but left before practice started.  Green said afterwards he is doing a lot better, it just takes time and the only thing he can do is rest.  He said it was nice to get back out on the ice, he said hopefully this week he’ll be able to get out and do a full practice and get that under his belt.  Green also said he wants to get back into shape and get comfortable again, he doesn’t want to rush into the game.

Tom Poti practiced fully today and said afterwards it’s definitely getting better, but not where it needs to be right now.  Says his goal is to play some games before the playoffs, but on a smaller scale he is just taking it day by day.  Michal Neuvirth was back on the ice after missing a game due to being sick.

The Capitals only have six regular season games left, including four at home and they’ll start with hosting the Carolina Hurricanes tomorrow night to start a three game home stand.  Carolina is five games out of a playoff spot and very desperate.  The Capitals have dominated the Hurricanes this season and are 5-0-0 against them.  The Caps lines today were 18-19-28, 25-90-22, 26-21-16, 17-15-10, 8-44-83, 27-74, 55-6, 4-23, 3-89.  Check out what Bruce Boudreau, Alex Ovechkin, Mike Green & Jason Arnott had to say following practice today.
