After beating New Jersey on Sunday, the Wizards hoped the winning ways would carry over at least for the first game of a 5-game road trip at Portland on Tuesday night. It didn’t. The Wizards got blasted 111-76 at the Blazers as Gerald Wallace scored 28 points and LaMarcus Aldridge added 22 for Portland in the rout.
Rookie guard Jordan Crawford led the Wizards with 12 points and guard John Wall added 9 points and 7 assists while another rookie Kevin Saraphin, showed early flashes, adding 10 points. The Wizards struggled obviously on offense, scoring just 30 points combined in the second and third quarters.
The Wizards are now an unbelievable 1-32 on the road, 17-52 overall and they turn right around and visit the L.A. Clippers Wednesday night at Staples Center. Less than two weeks ago, Blake Griffin scored 26 points in the Clippers’ 122-101 blowout of Washington at Verizon Center.
