The Capitals (37-20-10, 84 points) host the Edmonton Oilers (23-36-8, 54 points) at 7pm from Verizon Center.  The Caps will be without Nicklas Backstrom for the first time in 341 regular and postseason games.  Eric Fehr makes his return after missing 22 games with a shoulder injury.  Braden Holtby (5-2-2, 2.22 GAA, .918) will make his 8th career start for the Caps and he’ll face the Oilers Nikolai Khabibulin (10-26-2, 3.33 GAA, .893 Save pct.) who makes his return for the first time since February 22nd.

The Oilers are last in the west and lost 4-1 to the Philadelphia Flyers last night.  The Capitals are looking to match their season high consecutive win streak at six with a win tonight.  In their previous six games, the Caps have given up the first goal and in seven out of their previous eight the Caps have been shutout in the first period.  Watch for Marcus Johansson to be on the #1 line with Alex Ovechkin and Mike Knuble tonight replacing Backstrom.  Check out what Bruce Boudreau had to say before the game…
