Capitals Pregame Update

Capitals Head Coach Bruce Boudreau just had his pregame press conference and said goalie Semyon Varlamov had a “little big of a setback” and hopefully he’ll be ready for the next game.  The Caps recalled goalie Todd Ford from Hershey to back up Michal Neuvirth tonight.  In a surprising move, Boudreau alluded to the fact that Marco Sturm will start on the first line tonight and won’t be intimidated playing with Ovechkin and Backstrom.

Michal Neuvirth (19-10-4, 2.54 GAA, .923 Save pct.) will be in goal tonight for the Caps, while Nathan Lawson (1-4-1, 4.56 GAA, .879 Save pct.) is expected to start for the Islanders.  The Caps are looking to sweep the season series with the Islanders, but the previous three games have all been one goal games.  Check out what Bruce Boudreau said before the game.
