Maryland Basketball vs. Wake Forest – Live Blog
2:54 – Jordan Williams is having one of his best games as a Terp today. 27 points, 16 rebounds and 3 blocks. Not too shabby.
2:49 – One thing Maryland can look at as a negative today. Their perimeter D is still a mess.
2:48 – Pe’Shon Howard has put on a clinic today. He is doing to the Wake Forest guards what Duke did on Wednesday to him.
2:47 – Maryland opening the floodgates here on Wake. 75-51. Wake Forest can’t grab a defensive rebound. It’s getting comical.
2:37 – Just an embarassing block by Jordan Williams. Terrell tried to go up-and-under on Jordan Williams and he just got stuffed.
2:36 – Maryland still killing Wake on the glass. Jordan Williams heads to the line for two. Makes both. 62-50 Terps.
2:29 – Bowie cleans up the mess on the glass and Terps are up 60-46 at the media timeout.
2:24 – Stoglin makes one-of-two from the line. Tucker steals the inbound pass and the press is on. 58-44.
2:20 – Hawk back in the game and immediately hits a jumper. Howard with amazing ball-handling skills, but misses the layup, Williams misses the put-back dunk, but Hawk Palsson draws the charge on the other end.
2:19 – Wake Forest starting to find their stroke from behind the arc. Jordan Williams headed to the line for 2.
2:15 – Acrobatic move by Howard in air, he’ll head to the line for two after the break.
2:14 – Where’s Bill Walton to scream ‘Throw it Down, Big Fella’ every time Jordan Williams gets a dunk. 48-39
2:12 – Maryland killing Wake on the offensive glass. Gregory cleans up and hits a fade-away jumper. 46-34 Terps.
2:10 – Gregory open on the baseline and he knocks down the 15 foot jumper.
2:09 – Adrian Bowie’s shot is so flat. How has he been in college for 4 years and not put any arc on it.
1:51 – Terps give up an offensive rebound and Wake Forest can’t cut the deficit to single digits before halftime. 42-30.
1:46 – Cliff Tucker with the 3. 42-28. Desrosiers is just being left open for Wake. He’s made his last two, might be time to guard him?
1:44 – Howard can’t miss those wide open 3’s. This team would be so much better with a consistent three-point shooter. Howard’s 2-for-4 isn’t terrible by any means.
1:41 – Terps are really starting to flex their defensive muscle now. Creating havoc with the press. 35-19.
1:37 – Mosley on the board for the first time today as he makes both free throws to push the lead to 33-19. Terrible decision by Stoglin. He gets a little selfish at times. He had Howard wide open in the corner for 3, and instead drove and picked up the foul.
1:36 – Pe’Shon Howard seems to have found his stroke today. He’s hit two 3’s so far. Stoglin looking more confident today too. I’d imagine playing a team, who some consider the worst in the BCS conferences, will do that for young players.
1:31 – Wake Forest is hanging around, and this is a problem. The Terps should be up by 15 at this point. Wake Forest has no offense. Can’t let teams hang around.
1:29 – Palsson has been a difference maker so far on the court. He has 5 points and 2 rebounds in the last few minutes and is giving Gary some solid minutes off the bench.
1:23 – Hawk Palsson with the basket. Wake Forest cannot shoot. 17-8 Terps.
1:21 – Jordan Williams makes one of two from the line, pushes the Terps lead to 15-5.
1:18 – Maryland’s defense is just stifling Wake Forest offensively. Jordan Williams with a huge block Chenault.
1:15 – Had some trouble getting the internet going, but up and running. Maryland off to a hot start as they lead 12-4 at the first media timeout.
