The Wizards made it tougher on themselves then it had to be but in the end they avoided a major meltdown to beat Sacramento 136-133 in overtime as Nick Young scored a career high 43 points for the Wizards.

Up 6 points with21 seconds left, all the Wizards had to do was take care of the ball and make their free throws which they did not do, allowing Sacramento to make an improbable comeback and force overtime when Pooh Jeter hit a driving uncontested layup with 3.6 seconds left.

In overtime, Wizards Kirk Hinrich scored 6 crucial points to kill Sacramento’s chances of another miracle comeback as the Wizards notched their 10th win of the season.

Nick Young was the story of the game the first three quarters as he was red hot, pumping in 35 points in the first 36 minutes of play. He cooled off in the fourth and overtime but regsrdless it was a career night for the fourth year pro. “I was in that zone,” Young said.

John Wall scored 22 points and dished out 9 assists as the Wizards now head on the road to visit lowly Minnesota Thursday night. Washington (10-26) is still looking for its first road win of the season.
