Mike Shanahan just spoke to the media after his team’s Saturday practice. He didn’t say much, but here are some highlights of his 6 minute, 24 second press conference.
– Clinton Portis is a “game-time decision.”
Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t think you should expect Portis to play on Monday. He’s been limited all week in practice and when a player recovering from an injury can’t practice without getting sore, they typically don’t play.
– Ryan Torain should be “full-go” if he doesn’t suffer a setback.
Torain is going to play. The bye week couldn’t have come at a better time for the Arizona State product. His injured hamstring limited him early this week, but Shanahan said he practiced well on Friday and Saturday.
– Brandon Banks’ status is still in question.
Again, I’d be very surprised if Banks is able to play. He hasn’t gotten through a full practice and is less than two weeks removed from a slight tear to his meniscus. He was expected to miss at least a game before Shanahan said he was “hopeful” that Banks could play earlier in the week.
