In overtime the Caps had a 2 minute power play, but Mike Green hit one off the post and the Caps had their first shootout of the season. Nicklas Backstrom missed wide on his attempt, but Alex Ovechkin and Alex Semin didn’t miss on their’s while Michal Neuvirth stonewalled Toronto on two attempts and the Caps and Michal Neuvirth get their eight victories of the season. Neuvirth, playing in the first 11 of 12 Caps games, stopped 24 of 28 shots faced and bounced back to a real bad first 10 minutes of the third.
